The three factors that affect the resolution of the scanner

The resolution of the bar code scanner is determined from three aspects: optical part, hardware part and software part. That is, the bar code scanner's resolution is equal to the resolution of its optics plus its own resolution through hardware and software processing and analysis.

Optical resolution is the actual number of spots captured by an optical component of a bar code scanner within an area per square inch. It refers to the physical resolution of the CCD (or other optoelectronic device) of the bar code scanner and is also the true resolution of the bar code scanner. The rate, its value is the number of pixels that can be captured by the photoelectric element divided by the maximum scanable size of the bar code scanner. For example, a bar code scanner with a resolution of 1200 DPI often has only 400 to 600 DPI of optical resolution. The resolution of the extension is generated by a combination of hardware and software. This process is performed by the computer analyzing the image and mathematically filling the blank (this process is also called interpolation).

Optical scanning and output are one-to-one, what is scanned and what is output. After the computer hardware and software processing, the output image will become more realistic and the resolution will be higher. Most bar code scanners currently on the market have software and hardware extensions to the resolution. Some bar code scanners write 9600×9600 DPI, which is only the maximum resolution obtained through software interpolation, not the true optical resolution of the bar code scanner. So for a bar code scanner, its resolution has optical resolution (or optical resolution) and maximum resolution. Of course, we are concerned with optical resolution. This is hard work.

We say that a bar code scanner has a resolution of up to 4800 DPI (this 4800 DPI is the sum of the optical resolution and software difference processing), which means that when a bar code scanner is used to input an image, it can be acquired on a 1 square inch scan frame. 4800×4800 Pixels. Scanning area of 1 inch square, scanned with a resolution of 4800 DPI produces an image size of 4800 pixels×4800 pixels. When scanning an image, the higher the scanning resolution is set, the finer the effect of the resulting image, and the larger the resulting image file, but the more interpolation components.
